Looking young is a major concern for both men and women. The Softmesology® laboratory, created in 2013, has developed a non-invasive and innovative concept called “Softmesotherapy®” that smooths fine lines and wrinkles and increases the face’s tonicity, thus reducing the signs of skin aging.

Designed to fulfil the requirements of patients who do not wish to have injections, the SoftmesoMed© is part of a series of treatment protocols that use high-tech cosmetic actives derived from biotechnology. Its defining feature is that it associates several different technologies, such as Microphorèse® for the face, Electrofréquence® for the body, radiofrequency, pressotherapy, cryogenics and light therapy (without UVAs or UVBs) for a comprehensive face and/or body treatment.

Bolstered by the results achieved, the company launched a clinical study on 20 patients, which was supervised by dermatology experts and pharmacists, and here we present the study’s findings.

Treatment protocol

The first part of the treatment aims to infuse the active principles into the significantly-affected areas of the face using Microphorèse®. These actives are plant stem cells, growth factors (which encourage mitosis), and volumising hydrating agents such as hyaluronic acid to stimulate the fibroblasts that produce elastin and neo-collagen. The application of moderate cold, in addition to the pleasant feeling on the skin, stimulates the blood microcirculation and limits the elimination of the actives. The skin immediately looks more radiant and plumped. But the crux of the protocol is the use of LEDs (IR and visible) to increase the production of ATP by the mitochondria, the cells’ energy source. Cell regeneration is set in motion and the sluggish cutaneous metabolism is fully reactivated. Light therapy using LEDs also enables us to reduce the patient’s stress and anxiety.

The following illustrations enable us to see how the depth of the wrinkles is reduced using a laserViz, with the increased firmness (density/thickness) of the skin measured using an ultrasound scan and the anti-aging effect using 2D/3D photos.

Following the study, patients gave a positive review of the therapy and said they would recommend the treatment.

4 key things to remember about Softmesology®:

  • It nourishes the skin’s cells with biochemical elements that are essential for their metabolism
  • It stimulates the cells’ mitochondrial activity with additional ATP supplied by light therapy
  • It significantly increases the synthesis of the different elements in the extracellular dermal matrix: collagen and elastin. It resets the balance of proteins and enzymes.
  • It recreates and maintains a certain level of hydration in the epidermis and dermis (in relation to the requirements of the patient’s age) using high-tech cosmetics.
