Present for only a few years, Pico lasers have often been restricted to tattoo removal and have been described as the “Rolls Royce” of tattoo removal.

Will the Lutronic Picoplus just be a super tattoo removal laser? Yes, but not just.

A great leap forward in tattoo removal:

According to Professor David Le Breton, sociologist, “Today, the tattoo has transformed into cultural and is no longer a temporary craze.” In the face of this mass phenomenon (7 million people tattooed in France, 14% over 18-years old with a clear female dominance, IFOP study), post-tattoo results are not always as expected. Between disinterest, technical errors and hasty decision making, the request for tattoo removal is on the rise with recurring questions: Will my tattoo completely disappear? How many sessions will I need?

As a reminder, with a conventional nanosecond tattoo removal laser, there are many limitations: colored tattoos, inhomogeneous ink particle sizes and often unknown ink compositions. However, in the face of these limitations, Picoplus has the upper hand:

  • Thanks to a more selective photothermolysis effect: increase of the photoacoustic effect and decrease of the potentially deleterious thermal effect (shooting time << stress confinement time).
  • Thanks to a high power (NdYag: maximum 800 mJ at 450 ps).

A new approach in the treatment of pigmented lesions with a Ruby Touch Handpiece + (Pico 660 nm)

Although the use of 532 nm remains a safe bet for epidermal pigmented lesions, the effectiveness and safety of treatments remains highly operator dependent, notably due to the inflammatory effect. The interest of the Pico Handpiece 660 nm solid color lies in the fact that there is a significant reduction in post-treatment inflammation and thus a decrease in the risk of post-inflammatory pigmentation.

A new approach in melasma care

Melasma often creates a long term social complex, while the treatments are also poorly codified and with numerous treatment failures. Although not all the mechanisms have been identified (genetic, hormonal, environmental…), the importance of vascular recruitment as a factor of pigmentation seems to play a key role. Hence, the combined use of

Pico micro toning 1064nm with the Pico 595nm of the Picoplus laser, now allows an optimized treatment with improved results.

A new method in the laser treatment of scars with the Dual Focused dot Handpiece

Thanks to the possibility to choose the depth of penetration, it is now possible to treat scars in their entirety.
