A desire to look younger and match their physique to how they feel inside is leading more and more women to opt for aesthetic medicine techniques that are less invasive than surgery.
A desire to look younger and match their physique to how they feel inside is leading more and more women to opt for aesthetic medicine techniques that are less invasive than surgery.
The treatments currently available to fight against facial aging respond to this demand. Combining several high-performance techniques optimises their results.
I have designed a treatment protocol for the face to combat wrinkles, fine lines, skin folds, the contour of the oval, jowls, sagging and drooping in the face.
1. Skin preparation: Remove make up then cleanse using micellar water.
2. Diamond micro-dermabrasion to get rid of dead skin cells and give a boost of radiance. Â
3. Fractional radiofrequency (Fractional RF) for its firming and toning effect. The device emits electromagnetic waves that create heat deep within the skin, leading the cells to retract and produce new collagen, which improves the skin’s firmness and tone. Sessions last around 30 minutes.
According to the patient’s requirements and age, we can use:
- A smooth wand, which is passed over skin that has been covered in a thin layer of glycerine. It is used to treat the skin’s surface, for a smoothing and firming effect.
- A wand with micro-needles that penetrate up to 2 to 3mm for an in-depth firming and toning effect. This requires an anaesthetic cream to be applied before treatment. This Fractional RF with micro-needling can be either bipolar (to reach the dermal layers) or monopolar (to reach the sub-dermal tissues, for an improved lifting effect).
- A smaller micro-needling wand is used for the lower eyelids, and wrinkles around the eyes and mouth. Around 3 to 5 sessions, spaced a month apart, are required for long-lasting results. I often plan to perform just Fractional RF in the first session, associate Fractional RF with micro-needling in the second session, and, according to the results achieved, the third session may or may not include micro-needling.
4. Hyaluronic Acid (HA): I take advantage of the micropores created at the surface of the skin to apply hydrating agents such as HA combined with antioxidant vitamin complexes using the nappage technique. HA injections are sometimes required to fill deep wrinkles for a volumising effect.
5. LED photo biomodulation: For its anti-inflammatory, reparative and healing benefits, which reduce the side-effects of Fractional RF (temporary redness and swelling) while potentiating its results. Sessions last 15 to 20 minutes.
The combination of dermabrasion, Fractional RF – with or without micro-needling -, HA and LEDs enables us to achieve results from the very first session (1 hour to 1.5 hrs). Over the weeks that follow, collagen stimulation continues. However, the results are clearly visible after the third session.
A complete treatment of several sessions using this protocol enables us to rejuvenate the face, with effects that last around 2 years.
