Boost your lips’ radiance for a dazzling smile

By Doctor Nelly Gauthier

The lips have the power of making people want to listen to you, get to know you better, try to make you smile and, of course, kiss you!dents-gauthier

Aesthetic medicine and surgery can modify or restore:

1/ The volume of the lips: The first choice of treatment is to use “intelligent and anatomical” injections of hyaluronic acid. Some cosmetic surgeons pride themselves on achieving great results with injections of fat, but these results are significantly less subtle. Other surgeons swear by lip lifts, but these leave a scar. However, if Mother Nature has given you lips that are too large, the only solution is cosmetic surgery, which leaves an invisible scar on the inside of the mouth.

2/ The shape of the lips: The natural shape of the lips usually matches each particular face. A good practitioner should know how to highlight your lips’ natural beauty rather than try to change their shape. Thanks to a few “strategic” hyaluronic acid injections, sometimes coupled with “intelligent” dermopigmentation (tattooing) around the edges of the lips, your lips are guaranteed to look luscious.

3/ The colour of the lips: This should be kept close to your natural lip colour. To enhance the natural lip colour, subtle hyaluronic acid injections, which do not affect the lips’ volumes, are effective. There is also a technique which involves carrying out dermopigmentation over the entire lip surface, but this runs the risk of affecting the mucous membranes.

The most important thing is to design a treatment plan that is realistic and affordable for the patient.
