Perfect facial rejuvenation requires a holistic approach that works against deflation, volume loss, sagging and skin dehydration to achieve the best possible results. In most cases, focusing on one area is insufficient. It is therefore helpful to use a wide range of products and an effective technique to improve the different areas and layers.
For global rejuvenation, you need to start building up a face by re-constructing the contours and focusing on volume loss using Pluryal® Volume. To retain the patient’s identity and achieve natural results, photos of the patient in his/her youth should to be taken into consideration before starting the treatment.
Inspired by the 8-Point technique described by Brazilian dermatologist, Dr Mauricio de Maio, French plastic surgeon Dr. Bernard Mole defined a 12-Point Technique. This 12-point technique has the advantage of acting globally to rejuvenate the skin:
- Smooth wrinkles and lines
- Restore volume
- Attenuate starting ptosis
The target points are:
- Temples
- Eyebrows
- Dark circles
- Cheek / Bone structure
- Cheek / Bone structure
- Tear trough / Midface
- Pre-jowl area
- Nasolabial folds
- Mouth corners
- Jawline
- Lower cheek volume / Buccal area
- Chin tip
The retaining ligaments define 3 zones where different kinds of soft tissue sagging take place. Most of the sagging occurs in zone 2, which means that the treatment should focus on the more superficial layers.
As a rule, the treatment should always start from top to bottom and from the deep layers (volumization) to the superficial layers. The advantage of this strategic technique is that every change induced by the filler injection in the upper area may also induce changes in the lower area, which means less substance may be required.
To achieve perfect, global and lasting facial rejuvenation and improve skin texture, you should start rebuilding the contour using Pluryal® Volume with cannulas, work on the folds and wrinkles using Pluryal®, boost the skin through rehydration with Pluryal® Booster and improve the most superficial skin layers using Mesoline® and Pluryal® Skincare. Bont/A treatment can also be performed in the same session. However, care must be taken when treating the lower face with Bont/A and filler on the same day due to the higher risk of toxin diffusion, leading to asymmetries.
