SAPHIR, DHI/CHOI and SAPHORÏ ®, three tailored techniques to elegantly restore
your hair density.
Hair loss is no longer inevitable. Nowadays, at Clinique du Grand Paris, three hair transplantation techniques can be used to achieve a dense, natural-looking and perfectly-shaped hairline. As an aesthetic surgeon, let me tell you about these personalised approaches.

Hair density is no longer all about genetics. Thanks to the spectacular progress made in hair transplantation, we can now correct hair loss in a precise, natural-looking and discreet way. In my aesthetic surgery practice, I have seen an increasing demand among men who want to restore their hairline without compromising on elegance or quality. In my clinic, we made the decision to offer three cutting-edge techniques, which we adapt to the specific requirements of every patient: the SAPHIR method, the DHI/CHOI method and the SAPHORÏ ® method.
SAPHIR method: technology and finesse to boost density

The SAPHIR method is an advanced variation of the FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) method. Where it differs is that it uses a sapphire blade, which is much finer and more precise than traditional metal blades.
Why is this important? Because a finer incision means better healing, potentially higher hair density and, above all, a more natural look. This blade allows us to create very narrow implantation channels at a precise angle, respecting the natural direction of the hair’s growth. The SAPHIR method is especially indicated for the forehead and temple areas, where the shaping of the hairline requires surgical precision. It offers an optimal compromise between density, finesse and quick recovery.
DHI/CHOI method: direct implantation, maximum control
The DHI (Direct Hair Implantation) technique, also called the CHOI method, stands out because it uses an implanter tool known as the “CHOI pen”. This tool allows us to load and then implant the follicular units directly into the scalp, without having to create an implantation channel first. This procedure offers various advantages. First of all, it gives very precise control over the direction, angle and depth of the implant. Next, since the grafts are handled for less time outside the scalp, their survival rate is optimised.
The DHI/CHOI method is ideal for densifying sparse areas without having to shave the whole scalp, which is a major benefit for patients who want a discreet procedure and want to quickly get back to their professional or personal life.
SAPHORÏ ® method: a strategic alliance between SAPHIR and DHI
Every scalp is unique. Some baldness patterns present areas that need reshaping (such as frontal fibrosing) and others need densifying (such as vertex or tonsure). This is where the SAPHORÏ method comes into play, as it intelligently combines the advantages of the two previous techniques.
More specifically, we use the SAPHIR blade to shape the hairline as naturally as possible and, for optimal density, we then use the CHOI pen to densify the areas at the back by implanting the hairs directly into the scalp. This “tailored” approach allows us to achieve harmonious results, both in terms of hairline shape and overall volume. This technique requires the perfect mastery of both procedures and a very detailed hair analysis. It is a highly personalised solution that we reserve for certain profiles of patient, after an in-depth diagnosis.
Choosing which technique to use: a tailored procedure, never “one size fits all”

Choosing between these three techniques is never done lightly. At Clinique du Grand Paris, every patient benefits from a detailed hair diagnosis, based on the density of the donor site, the surface to cover, their aesthetic expectations and, of course, their lifestyle. Certain procedures can be carried out in one day, while others require several sessions. What we can guarantee is overall care, a stringent medical approach and uncompromising aesthetic stringency.
The results? A subtle hairline, coherent density and a perfectly natural-looking result, both to the naked eye and to touch.
Whether you opt for the SAPHIR, DHI/CHOI or SAPHORÏ method, a successful hair transplant relies primarily on adopting a personalised approach. Getting your hair back means getting your confidence back!
