Thalassotherapy essentials!
The HMC Hotel & Resort group and the Thalgo group have joined forces to create a new establishment, which comprises a hotel resort and a thalassotherapy centre with a marine spa, looking out onto the Sables Blancs beach.
20 large yet intimate treatment booths are decorated with wood-imitation tiles or natural varnished wood surfaces (must see: the tea room, which has bamboo hanging from the ceiling). The marina spa is also unconventional, with two salt-water swimming pools heated to 32° nestled underneath a stone-clad timber frame, with glass walls revealing the neighbouring ocean. The 40m2 pool is equipped with a counter-current system and the 150m2 pool plays host to a wide range of hydrotherapy features, such as a swan neck waterfall, massage jets, hydro massage beds, etc. Make sure you try out the sauna, whose glass walls offer magnificent views of the scenery outside.
Four basic programmes
The establishment is based around the essentials of thalassotherapy, offering four programmes that each fulfil a different set of specifications: Marine Escapism, Voyage of the Senses, Marine Beauty and Invigorating Silhouette. Two new programmes are being introduced in 2016, with a tailor-made programme that is created by the guests themselves, who are invited to choose from a menu of 12 fantastic treatments including exfoliation, wraps and even hydrotherapy; 5 relaxation treatments such as “Essentials of the Sea”, one facial and finally one premium treatment, such as the “Excellence Anti-aging Ritual”. An original package that is sure to delight all spa lovers.
The tempting list of spa treatments includes the Mahana Massage, which immerses you into the delights of French Polynesia for 50 minutes, relieving you of all tension! And why not try the “Shell Massage”, which is also new for 2016? This massage uses warm sea shells to gently soothe and liberate you from stress. Divine! We highly recommend rounding off your stay with one of the spa’s numerous anti-aging treatments. We especially liked “M Ceutic”, an original correcting treatment that targets the skin’s imperfections and irregularities. Amazing!
