I have ten infallible tips for LOSING WEIGHT FAST:
1/ GO TO BED an hour earlier than usual and make sure you sleep an average of 9 hours per night. Studies have shown that the principal cause of weight gain is a lack of sleep.
2/ Bring your evening meal forward by an hour so that your digestive secretions are lower, which means you will have less of an appetite and therefore have better control over how much you eat.
3/ Ban ALL carbohydrates from your evening meal (bread, pasta, rice, potatoes), no fruit, no dessert.
4/ If possible, follow the “no food after 6pm” rule every other day. To do this, at 4pm you should eat a snack of 2 to 3 squares of dark chocolate (70% cocoa solids or above) plus an apple or pear or, even better, a freshly-squeezed vegetable juice.
5/ Chew your food properly: Chewing is a vital catalyst for weight loss. Studies have shown that by eating the same food but chewing for twice as long, you can LOSE around 500g (1lb) per week.
6/ Breakfast should be copious and full of healthy proteins:
- Hard-boiled, poached or soft-boiled eggs (x2)
- A slice of ham
- A slice of bread topped with olive or hemp oil
- A few tomatoes and a bit of cheese
ROUND OFF your breakfast with tea or coffee and, most importantly, a large glass of vegetable juice.
7/ Diuretic drink to be sipped throughout the day:
Put a 1.5 litre bottle of water in the fridge the night before, add 10 fresh mint leaves, the cherry-stem infusion described below*, the juice of one lemon, a few slices of lemon and some grated ginger. Drink throughout the day. This drink has a diuretic effect and also curbs the appetite.
* = Bring 50cl of water to the boil. Turn off the heat and add 4 tablespoons of cherry stems. Cover and leave to infuse for 10 minutes.
If you want to lose weight fast, you need to eat the right kind of protein:
- White meat
- Lean red meat for lunch
- Eggs in the morning
- Any kind of fish in the evening. Even oily fish is less fatty than the leanest type of meat.
9/ Avoid carbohydrates, sugar and sweets
The fight against excess weight can never be won unless you reduce your intake of these kinds of foods by 50% at breakfast and lunch.
