The “Nude on Nude” trend is gaining ground as the natural look, and even bare skin, takes centre stage. Only one thing is required: flawless skin that is close to perfection.
The first step to a flawless complexion is hydration
To intensely hydrate the skin, we have two options:
– Hyaluronic acid, using Skinboosters by Restylane, a stabilised hyaluronic acid injected into the mid-dermal layer. The aim is to create denser-looking skin without affecting the facial features or volumes. The skin’s structure is reinforced, as is its elasticity, firmness and radiance. It is hydrated in depth. Usually two to three sessions are carried out, leaving a month in between, followed by one or two top-up sessions per year.
– Mesotherapy: This is the injection of nourishing and revitalising complexes containing vitamins, antioxidants and hyaluronic acid into the superficial derma.
The face, neck, décolletage, back of the hands and the body can all be treated.
Requirement no.2: Smooth and radiant skin
Intense hydration alone will not give you great skin. The skin is the body’s primary barrier against assaults from the outside world. Toxins and dead cells accumulate on the skin’s surface and stop it from breathing, which causes skin problems such as seborrhoea, acne, a dull complexion, pigmentation marks, blackheads and enlarged pores. The solution lies in peels, which act by exfoliating the skin, thus encouraging skin renewal. I am one of those rare doctors who carries out laser peels. I made this choice because, according to the parameters selected, I can choose how deep and how hot I want to go. It is this heat that is lacking in chemical peels. The heat stimulates the skin’s cells to produce dermal tissue. The skin becomes smoother and more radiant, and at the same time we are performing photo-rejuvenation.
One laser peel gives the same, or even better, results than a full series of diamond dermabrasion treatments or chemical peels.
A clear complexion
Pigmentation marks, scars, redness and spider veins are common flaws that can only be treated by laser, given that creams are ineffective.
For pigmentation marks, the laser chosen depends on the colour of the skin and the location of the mark, which might be dermal or epidermal. The lasers used are Q-switched KTP, Nd:Yag, Alexandrite or fractional CO2 and erbium ablative lasers.
Vascular flaws can be eliminated using KTP, Nd:Yag or PCL (pulsed coloured laser) lasers.
Fractional CO2 and erbium ablative lasers are used to treat scarring.
Treating sensitive areas and wrinkles, and restoring volumes
Flawless skin means skin without wrinkles and with shapely volumes.
Essentials: botulinum toxin and hyaluronic acid for wrinkles and hyaluronic acid to restore volumes in the cheeks, under-eye area, lips, etc.
Final requirement: a perfect mouth and eyes for unparalleled weapons of seduction. Ablative lasers for wrinkles around the eyes, hyaluronic acid injections under the eyes to erase a tired expression, into the eyebrows to reshape and reposition, and into the lips to recover lost volume, shape and sensuality.
