Towards an effective alternative to neck liposuction.
Dr Delphine Haddad
More and more patients want to firm up their neck, redefine the oval of their face and get rid of their double chin without undergoing surgery. Today, ATTIVA internal radiofrequency is standing out as an innovative and effective solution requiring no downtime that can treat skin sagging and moderate submental fat volume, while naturally stimulating collagen production.

A cutting-edge technology for targeted firming
Unlike external radiofrequency, which acts at the surface, ATTIVA relies on a subdermal technology: a micro-cannula is inserted underneath the skin to directly heat the subcutaneous tissues. This approach allows for a more intense and targeted action, ideal for firming the skin and reshaping certain areas of the face.
• A double thermal monitoring system guarantees the treatment’s safety.
• An internal probe measures the subcutaneous temperature.
• An external thermal camera monitors the skin’s surface temperature in real time.
The heat generated by the radiofrequency leads to several beneficial biological reactions:
• Stimulation of the cells’ metabolism, promoting tissue renewal.
• Boosting local vascularisation, improving nutrient supply and cellular exchange.
• Detoxifying effect, helping to eliminate tissue waste.
• Contraction of the existing collagen fibres, giving an immediate tensing effect.
• Activation of the fibroblasts, stimulating the production of collagen, elastin and glycosaminoglycans (GAG), which are essential to the skin’s firmness and elasticity.
The studies carried out by Professors Sbarbati and Maullu show that elastin stimulation is optimal between 45°C and 52°C. Above this temperature, there is a real risk of damaging the elastin.
ATTIVA combines an immediate firming effect with gradual bio-rejuvenation.

We seek a temperature of between 60°C and 65°C in order to alter the structure of the submental tissues, which harmonises the volumes and gradually reshapes the contour of the neck.
Treatment protocol
Before every session, photos are taken from different angles (full-face, profile, three-quarters and head down) so that we can properly assess the results after the treatment.
What happens during the session
- The treatment zone is marked out: The submental zone is marked out and the entry points for the cannula are identified: one under the chin and two lateral points underneath the earlobe.
2. A light local anaesthetic is administered.
3. Two-step treatment:
• Skin firming: Into the lateral points, the radiofrequency is applied bilaterally for 6 to 9 minutes at 46°C to improve the neck’s tone and achieve a lifting effect. To maximise the results, this action is carried out in various planes up to the subplatysmal plane, ensuring optimal retraction of the tissues.
• Refining the submental contour: From the submental entry point, we perform back and forth movements to reshape the treatment area. The temperature is then increased to between 60 and 65°C to encourage the transformation of the subcutaneous tissue, helping to better define the neck.
After effects and expected results
• Immediate lifting effect: Right after the session, the skin is firmer and more toned.
• Progressive improvement: The firming effect increases over 3 to 6 months, the time needed for the cells to regenerate.
• Redefining the area under the chin: After some temporary swelling (15 days to 1 month, depending on the patient), the lower face gradually begins to look better defined.
• Optimal satisfaction: From the third month onwards, the results are clearly visible, with better definition in the oval of the face.
In general, a single session is enough to achieve long-lasting results.
A tailored treatment: for which patients?
ATTIVA is particularly well suited to patients who:
• Present moderate excess volume under their chin
• Suffer from moderate skin sagging or whose skin quality risks retracting badly after liposuction
• Seek a non-surgical alternative with no downtime
• Are aged between 35 and 50, the ideal age for maximising natural collagen stimulation
ATTIVA, a revolution for neck rejuvenation
ATTIVA internal radiofrequency is a major advance in aesthetic medicine for the neck, offering a deep firming effect and targeted reshaping of the contours. It is an ideal alternative to surgery for patients who want natural-looking, gradual and long-lasting results.
