Autumn: time for your skin to get back to work!

Dr Bernard Mole, Aesthetic and Plastic Surgeon, Paris

Your skin has been under attack for several weeks through extensive exposure to sunlight, heat and, in some cases, extreme conditions, such as cruises and high altitudes, from which it may not have been fully protected.Bernard-Mole

The time has come to repair the damage. Serums and creams may offer an easy daily solution, but when it comes to tackling these problems, you also need to arm yourself with a more effective, targeted action.

We’re talking about mesotherapy, a treatment that has made leaping advances in recent years. A recently launched line of injectable mesotherapy products offers two formulas specifically designed to help your facial skin recover: A first one with hyaluronic acid enriched with amino acid complex, and a second one containing in addition a firming ingredient called “choline”. Contrary to Mesotherapy products already present on the market, these products contain few ingredients that are highly concentrated. They feature fragments of high molecular weight hyaluronic acid, an outstanding moisturiser and amino acids that have the great advantage of stimulating collagen production, improving hence your skin texture. The choline, present in the variant “2” of the product is one of the B vitamins that many people in western countries lack, that strengthens cell membranes and firms your skin.

To prolong the effects of this mesotherapy treatment, it is necessary to combine it with injections of stabilized hyaluronic acid with glycerol (called skin booster), which has an intense hydrating effect that lasts for several weeks or several months (more concentrated and cross-linked dermal fillers).

Here are our treatment guidelines (face and neckline), using in all cases very fine needles, which are virtually painless:

  • For people with young, lightly damaged skin: 3 sessions of mesotherapy / skin booster at 2-3 week intervals. Top-up session in the spring.
  • For people with mature skin: 1 session of mesotherapy with choline coupled with injections of dermal fillers and followed again by 2 sessions of mesotherapy. A skin booster session after 3 to 6 months is recommended.

Dr Bernard MOLE is an aesthetic and plastic surgeon practising in Paris. Founding member of various plastic surgery societies (French, European and International), he is also the scientific coordinator of the IMCAS congress and the secretary of France within the ISAPS (International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons).
