The Brazilian trend for shapely buttocks is undeniably popular in France, both with women and with gay men.

For a long time, women were more concerned about their breasts than their bum, deeming that the former were never nice or well-developed enough. Their bottom, however, just had to be small and well-muscled but should not draw too much attention. Today, the buttocks are creeping into the spotlight.
A well-shaped behind
The ideals of beauty have changed and a nice bum is now well-developed and shapely, with high buttocks like the Callipygian Venus. It should also be nicely rounded and should not sag down towards the thighs. Of course, intensive sport and muscle-strengthening can achieve these firm, rounded buttocks, albeit through a lot of effort. But not all women have the desire, the time or the energy to work out. Many prefer a faster and more effective solution, which can give them the posterior they always dreamed of in under an hour, even if it does hurt for a few days after treatment. The same applies to men, in particular gay men, for whom peachy, pert buttocks are a very powerful sexual symbol.
PDO tensor threads: a key ingredient for buttock enhancement
PDO threads are made from polydioxanone, an incredibly safe material used in general surgery for sutures, as well as in cardiology. Naturally resorbable, PDO stimulates collagen formation and revitalises the tissues. Highly popular in aesthetic medicine, these threads are available in different lengths and diameters. Another advantage is that they have barbs and therefore hold up any tissues that have a tendency to sag. Using these threads, the practitioner can make the buttocks round by lifting them in the middle and shaping them how they see fit, correct a bottom that is sagging at the sides, or erase an unsightly under-buttock fold.

What happens during and after the procedure
The procedure is carried out under local anaesthetic. Patients are advised not to take any aspirin for 48 hours before the procedure and to take 3 granules of arnica 9ch just before the session and for three days afterwards, to limit any bruising.
The practitioner draws the shape of the bum that the patient would like to achieve. They insert the threads in a criss-cross fashion then apply small bandages that can be removed after 24 hours. An antiseptic should be applied locally twice a day for 10 days. Sport is not advised, and is even prohibited, for two weeks after the procedure.
Thanks to the local anaesthetic, the insertion of the threads is pain-free. When the anaesthetic wears off, the patient may suffer from cramps or stiffness for around two weeks. Even if they have taken arnica, some bruising may occur.
The effects are visible after about a week and improve over several months. They look impressive after about a month and are astounding around three months after the procedure.
The results can be maintained by placing a few extra threads every year or 18 months, depending on the patient.
