The quest for effective anti-aging treatments has driven significant advancements in aesthetic medicine, with new developments promising to be the ultimate solution.
Among these innovations, GOURI®, a revolutionary liquid form of Polycaprolactone (PCL), has emerged as a powerful tool in combating the aging process. Unlike traditional fillers, it focuses on natural biostimulation, delivering subtle yet impactful results that align with the growing demand for non-invasive treatments.

The Emergence of GOURI®: A Game-Changer in Anti-Aging
GOURI® stands out for its ability to stimulate collagen production with remarkable spreadability, making it a unique anti-aging solution. By restoring the skin’s collagen matrix and improving overall skin quality, it offers a fresh approach that sets it apart from traditional treatments. This innovation addresses the root causes of aging, providing a more natural and effective remedy.
Understanding the Aging Process
Aging is a complex process influenced by genetics, environmental exposure, and lifestyle choices. The mid and lower face, along with the neck and hands, often begin to show signs of aging in the late 20s to early 30s due to rapid collagen depletion. These changes manifest as skin thinning, loss of elasticity, and the formation of wrinkles, all of which contribute to an aged appearance.
GOURI®’s Innovation: The Power of Liquid PCL
The effectiveness of GOURI® lies in its unique formulation. By turning PCL into a particle-free solution, it can be injected more superficially, targeting areas that are difficult to treat with conventional fillers. This characteristic makes it particularly well-suited for use in delicate regions like the periorbital region, neck, and décolletage, where skin thinning and loss of elasticity are common concerns. Other currently widely used indications include thin and dry skin on elbows and knees.
Impact on Aesthetic Medicine
GOURI® has garnered significant attention in the aesthetic community for its innovative composition and its potential to revolutionise anti-aging treatments. By shifting the focus from volumisation to biostimulation, GOURI® aligns with the trend towards natural-looking results that enhance the skin’s inherent qualities rather than masking imperfections. This new approach is resonating with both practitioners and patients who seek subtle, yet effective, improvements.
GOURI®: The Missing Link
Unlike other PCL formulations, GOURI®’s versatility and safety profile allow it to be integrated with various other treatments due to containing fully liquid PCL, making it an essential component in many aesthetic practices. In my experience, GOURI® has filled a critical gap in treatment protocols, providing a cohesive, uniform effect when used alongside other procedures.
Case Study
A recent case involved a patient seeking facial fillers. She was advised to undergo a thread lift combined with botulinum toxin and GOURI®. The treatments were performed in two sessions, spaced a few weeks apart. Botulinum toxin was administered to the upper face during the first session. Two weeks later, a non-surgical thread lift was performed, and 2 ml of GOURI® was injected through the same entry points in a retrograde fashion. The results were significant, with noticeable improvement in cheek volume, skin texture, and reduction of under-eye bags, showcasing the ability to enhance overall facial rejuvenation (Figure 1).
The Future of GOURI® in Aesthetic Medicine
GOURI® is poised to play a pivotal role in the future of non-invasive facial rejuvenation due to its ability to deliver consistent, natural-looking results with minimal side effects. Ongoing research into the potential applications of liquid PCL could lead to new treatment protocols and expanded uses, further solidifying its place in the field of aesthetic medicine.
In summary, GOURI® represents a significant advancement in the fight against aging, offering a versatile, non-invasive solution that addresses the underlying causes of skin aging rather than merely masking its symptoms. Its unique liquid PCL formulation provides a safe, effective, and natural-looking alternative to traditional fillers. As aesthetic medicine continues to evolve, GOURI® is set to become a cornerstone in facial rejuvenation, offering patients a path to radiant, youthful skin that adheres to the principles of subtlety and personalisation.
