The periocular area is particularly sensitive to the effects of aging and environmental factors due to its thin skin, high vascularization, low density of sebaceous glands, and intense muscular activity. These characteristics contribute to the appearance of various imperfections such as hyperpigmentation, puffiness, upper eyelid ptosis, and different types of wrinkles.
In this context, mesoestetic® has developed the PATH therapeutic strategy—a holistic approach that targets multiple levels and various cellular mechanisms to comprehensively address the signs of aging in this delicate area.
PATH : Profundity, Action, Time, Homecare
The PATH protocol provides a four-step intervention designed to deliver visible and safe results:
- Profundity: Treatments are tailored to the targeted skin depth, ranging from the epidermis and dermis to the muscles and even supraperiosteal levels.
- Action: A combination of peels for skin renewal, mesotherapy for cellular biostimulation, and fillers to restore lost facial volume.
- Time: Each step of the protocol is conducted over a specific duration to maximize clinical efficacy within a controlled timeframe.
- Homecare: Maintenance products, such as age element® eye contour and mesoprotech® sun stick 100, prolong the achieved results.
Materials and methods of the PATH protocol
Between July 2023 and January 2024, mesoestetic® conducted a study on ten patients with dark circles and periocular wrinkles. The combination of products and therapeutic techniques included:
- mesopeel® MD periocular:An advanced peel containing glycolic, salicylic, phytic, caffeic, and thioctic acids, designed to stimulate skin renewal and reduce hyperpigmentation.
- mesohyal® argibenone and melilot: A solution of hyaluronic acid and antioxidants, ensuring cellular biostimulation and improving vascularization in the area.
- mesofiller® periocular and intense: Cross-linked hyaluronic acid fillers used to restore volume in specific areas and reduce dynamic wrinkles.
Patients demonstrated significant improvements in skin quality, reduced pigmentation and vascularization, as well as a visible reduction in wrinkles. The treatment showed a high safety profile, with side effects being mild and predictable, such as moderate post-treatment erythema.
mesoestetic®’s PATH strategy positions itself as a safe and effective solution for periocular area treatment.
By adopting a 4D approach, this protocol targets multiple skin levels to deliver visible results, enhancing patient satisfaction and optimizing the rejuvenation of this delicate area.
