EMFACE® and EXION™ together offer a global approach that both corrects and prevents the signs of aging in the face.
Other than injecting the facial structures, which can be done either before or afterwards, these combined treatments are designed for patients who seek an overall improvement to the face or do not want to receive injections. In this way, it is a protocol for the future.
As a reminder, EMFACE® treats sagging skin on the face by acting on the facial elevator muscles at rest. Four to six 20-minute sessions are required, depending on the patient. Based on HIFES® technology (High Intensity Focused Electric Synchronised Fields), EMFACE® has three flexible applicators that are placed on the face.
The EXION™ platform, meanwhile, has four targeted applicators:
• EXION™ Fractional RF,
• EXION™ Face,
• EXION™ Body,
• EMFEMME 360®, which is for the intimate area.
The EXION™ Fractional RF applicator allows us to work on the skin texture in 3 to 5 sessions and with one single passage of the applicator. Its fractional monopolar radiofrequency – coupled with microneedling driven by Artificial Intelligence – allows us to treat all phototypes without the need for anaesthetic cream. The fractional temperature (85 degrees) causes the old collagen and elastin fibres to break down, leading to tissue reshaping and a clear improvement to the skin’s surface. It is ideal for treating wrinkles, dilated pores, acne scars and the skin quality.
Though the EMFACE® treatments can be carried out all year round, the EXION™ treatments should not be performed in the summer.
The EXION™ Face device delivers monopolar radiofrequency combined with targeted ultrasounds. This combination triggers a 47% increase in collagen, a 50% increase in elastin and a 224% increase in the production of hyaluronic acid*. It is ideal for boosting the skin quality and for dehydrated skin.
In my practice, the EMFACE® / EXION™ Fractional RF duo is a winning combo for correcting and repairing the skin on the face. It recovers the support, firmness, suppleness and texture of good skin quality. I combine four sessions of EMFACE®, spaced four days apart and followed by one top-up session every four months, with between 3 and 5 sessions (depending on the patient) of EXION™ Fractional RF, each spaced a month apart and followed by one top-up session every six months.
The advantage of this protocol is that it is non-invasive, pain-free and quick, and its results are very gratifying for the patients. It also has the benefit of being both a very good treatment for young patients who are seeking to prevent the signs of aging, and an effective treatment for older and more damaged skin.
Using the EXION™ Face in between these sessions offers prevention for younger patients and potentiates the results for more mature patients.
The EMFACE®/EXION™ combination is a treatment that enables us to address the requirements of a wider panel of patients: treating and satisfying patients of all ages, treating patients who cannot or do not wish to receive injections or surgery, and it is also an excellent complement to injections and surgery.
