A new era for mesotherapy

  • 20th April 2023
  • Thierry PIOLATTO

Mesotherapy is a technique that has been around for a long time but is now more current than ever thanks to the technical innovations and main actives used.

By Dr Broccaioli, in collaboration with mesoestetic®.

Mesotherapy is a medical treatment that involves injecting small doses of active ingredients into the skin in order to improve its quality and treat various problems. Multinational corporation mesoestetic® started developing mesotherapy products when the company was first created and has become a reference in this field. Here is a summary of the many advantages of mesotherapy and all of the most important innovations.

Would you say that the popularity of mesotherapy is on the rise?

Yes, without a doubt. It is an effective technique that can address a number of aesthetic issues and allows the patient to go straight back to their daily life after the sessions. The innovations offered by mesoestetic® concern the products’ formulation and the protocols available, namely a high concentration of hyaluronic acid (up to 15mg/ml) as well as the use of biomimetic peptides that act upon specific skin problems. High concentration hyaluronic acid provides optimal hydration and stimulates the activity of the fibroblasts. Peptides can have a tightening effect, target marks or even densify the dermis.

They are therefore essential actives in aesthetic medicine practices.

What is more, my patients are getting younger and younger, and these mesotherapy formulations allow us to treat them as part of a preventative approach. For example, some of these treatments allow us to achieve a Botox-like effect without using botulinum toxin or to prolong its effects.

Why is mesotherapy so effective?

This technique combines the physical stimulation of the needles with the biological effect of the main actives introduced and micro doses that activate the skin receptors. Its benefits lie in the repeated injection of small qualities. As Dr Michael Pistor said, “Little, not often and in the right place”. We might say that this technique enables the main actives to diffuse better, for a longer-lasting action using the smallest possible quantity of product and a targeted action.

What results can we achieve?

Depending on the patient’s request, the doctor has the choice of various formulations in the range. These formulations can be combined, allowing us to create tailored solutions. The results will depend on the indication that is being treated: improved hydration, a better-defined contour, fewer wrinkles, plumper skin, a more even complexion, an improvement in the appearance of stretch marks, or improved hair density in people who want to treat alopecia.

mesoestetic® has designed specific protocols from start to finish. There is a complete range of products, going from skin cleansing products to creams to reparative, soothing and hydrating post-procedure masks. These comprehensive protocols allow us to work with safe and effective products that are perfectly compatible with one another.

What techniques do you use to respond to such diverse issues?

The initial diagnosis is essential when choosing the most suitable treatment and evaluating the benefits that a combined protocol could offer. As an example, to improve the periocular area (brown pigmentation, congestion, fine lines, etc.), we can combine a periocular peel (combining azelaic, salicylic, lactic, resorcinol, citric and phytic acids) with mesohyal® argibenone (formulations containing hyaluronic acid, idebenone and hexapeptide) and mesohyal® melilot. This can be completed, if required, with injections of mesofiller® periocular hyaluronic acid. The injection technique can be intradermal nappage, intradermal papule, Z track or point by point. We can either use a manual technique or a gun. The treatment session can be rounded off with the application of a soothing and hydrating mask or a specific repair cream.

What are the innovations developed by mesoestetic® in this field?

The mesohyal® range from mesoestetic® features 13 different products that allow for combined protocols and a global approach for all aesthetic concerns, with proven efficacy in vitro and in clinical studies. In terms of innovation, the laboratory has developed new solutions that contain biomimetic peptides and bio stimulating solutions that act at cellular level (cell-targeting).

mesohyal® is the most comprehensive range of intradermal solutions for treating imperfections on the face, body and hair. What is more, mesoestetic® enables us to perform global treatments, thanks to medical protocols (mesotherapy, peels and hyaluronic acid) and integrated cosmetics adapted to every patient.
