HEALTHY SKIN PROJECT

  • 11th July 2016

The way that pollution affects our skin will be the main subject of the next World Congress of Dermatology, which will be held in Milan in 2019. This is further, alarming proof of the damaging effects that toxic micro-particles have on the face, which has lately been the subject of many a report. In order to fight this curse, skin specialists are pulling out all the stops in order to create an effective anti-pollution barrier and thus preserve the skin’s health.GALDERMA

“Clinical studies have shown that inhabitants of large cities experience premature and accelerated skin aging compared with those who live in the provinces. Given that our skin reacts to its environment, and that 90% of the signs of aging are due to a combination of sun and pollution, city-dwellers must arm themselves with a two-fold prevention plan in order to limit the damage caused by pollutant particles. We know that free radicals damage all of the skin’s structures, in particular the hydrolipidic film on its surface, and this leads to a vicious circle of inflammatory reactions, the early appearance of pigmentation marks, outbreaks of acne, dilated pores, collagen deterioration and loss of elasticity. To fight against this chain of events, city-dwellers must adopt a specific “healthy skin” routine, with a cleanser that respects the skin barrier and a hydrating, antioxidant and collagen-stimulating treatment such as NeoStrata’s Skin Active Cellular Restoration.” Dr Anne-Grand Vincent, Aesthetic Doctor.

“Pollution is a huge problem that we must live with. Nevertheless, it is possible to preserve the quality of our skin by taking straightforward measures: hydrating the skin using Skinboosters by Restylane which, thanks to their anti-oxidant and hydrating action, improve the superficial and deep layers of the skin; and a dermabrasion treatment in winter using NeoStrata peels in order to renew the epidermal layer.” Dr Jean-Marc Adda, Aesthetic Doctor.
