People take and have their pictures taken every day. More often than not, these images are then published on social media. The desire to project a glowing and flawless image has led to an ever-increasing demand from patients, both female and male, for minimally invasive treatments for double chins and the lower third of the face.
In my clinic, I treat several indications including:
- Fat redistribution due to aging and weight gain
- Slack skin
- Uneven face contours
There are, of course, many roads to Rome. However, when confronted with these indications, I prefer working with mesoline® products and, when necessary, complementing them with other techniques.
Why use mesoline® SLIM and mesoline® TIGHT for contouring?
The ability of PPC and DC to dissolve fat when combined is well known and has been clinically proven in numerous studies.
But, mesoline® SLIM goes one step further:
1. The ingredients are well balanced. This is very important for chin, neck and facial treatments. A high percentage of DC may be very effective at dissolving fat tissues, but the downside is the likelihood of inflammation and swelling. Patients do not want to have their double chins treated only to look like turkeys. The composition of mesoline® SLIM goes a long way to eliminating this risk.
2. It is a versatile product which can be used in combination with microneedling, mesoline® TIGHT and mesoline® BODYFIRM for contouring. These are ideally applied during the three-week intervals between mesoline® SLIM treatments.

Before I start treating my patients, I strongly recommend revitalisation through micro-needling and esthetic mesotherapy using mesoline® REFRESH, TIGHT and ANTIOX. Collagen induction and the high-quality ingredients in these products prepare the skin for any upcoming treatments. For me, this is the sine qua non for getting great results. This “R” is the foundation to my approach to anti-aging, whether then using mesoline® SLIM, fillers, PDO threads or Botox.
3. mesoline® SLIM does more than dissolve fat
Over the years, I’ve noticed a very distinctive characteristic of mesoline® SLIM. Not only is it very effective at dissolving fat, it also significantly improves the appearance of the skin. This is largely due to the revitalizing effect of PPC. Lines and wrinkles in the neck area and acne scars are attenuated, and overall texture of the skin becomes smoother.
Things you should know beforehand:
Before starting a treatment session with mesoline® SLIM a thorough anamnesis should be completed. Patients with BMI of 30 or higher would need to lose weight before using mesoline® SLIM. Remember that mesoline® SLIM is not a slimming product. It is also important to take cross sensitivities into account and patients with allergies to latex or soy lecithin should not undergo this treatment.
Concerning protocols, I always recommend starting with a small amount of mesoline® SLIM and gradually increasing the dose, if necessary. Less is more. During the first session, a maximum of 0.4ml per injection and 5ml in total should be applied. Before or between treatments, I recommend using mesoline® TIGHT and mesoline® BODYFIRM with micro-needling.
